Wellbeing - Dialysis Clinic

The design is inspired by the "filter" of dialysis focusing on well being of dialysis patients, their families and carers. The dialysis treatment is a large part of their daily lives, and the clinic will offer a home-like space to "filter out" toxins and strains from their bodies and minds. Three main non-clinical areas are provided alongside the treatment areas, including social zone, relax zone, and quiet zone offering spaces to support physical and mental health of the patients and families. The notion of well being is explored through biophilic design, which is a critical design aspect for a medical practice in a dense urban site. Curved walls and arched openings, soft and neutral colour palettes and natural materials are selected to create a sense of warmth and calm, all things about comfort and home.
